New York is a walking city. (It's geographically compressed and there is an amazing density of not-to-be-missed attractions.) Making Marriott's Residence Inn and Courtyard properties in Times Square the jump off point for walking adventures provides another great way to attract guests.

We created a "Walk NYC" mobile app that is provided to hotel guests as an added value and is featured in advertising and database marketing. The format: NYC divided up into a series of 1 hour walk tours delivered on your mobile device. The app is available through the app store and can be accessed for free through the property's Facebook page.

Impact

With a steady stream of downloads, the app has already been expanded with new walks 3 times, and is redefining how guests view the old-fashioned "About Town" literature typically found in hotel rooms.
